Emily Marie Smith of St. James, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in St. James, Missouri. Emily Smith was 79 years, and 16 days of age.

Emily Smith was born on October 11, 1930 in Rolla, Missouri to her parents: Ira Ralph and Fae Emily (Brewster) Havens. Emily was united in marriage to Joseph L. Smith in Rolla, Missouri on June 18, 1947. Joseph L. Smith passed away on April 1, 2008.

Emily Smith is survived by one son: Joseph P. Smith and wife Alice of Union, Missouri; six daughters: Mary Lindsey and husband Bill of Rolla, Missouri; Barbara Wagoner and husband Richard of Rolla, Missouri; Vicki McClanahan of Cedar Hill, Missouri; Pamela Bosch of Chilhowee, Missouri; Melody Smith of Cuba, Missouri; and Angela Scheel and husband Danny of St. James, Missouri; one brother: Phillip Havens of Rolla, Missouri; five sisters: Christine Black of Rolla, Missouri; Irene Hart of Atlanta, Georgia; Blanche Lortz of Rolla, Missouri; Jane Light of Rolla, Missouri and June Hitt of Slidell, Louisiana; along with 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. Emily will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Emily Smith is preceded in death by her parents: Ira Ralph and Fae Emily (Brewster) Havens; her husband: Joseph L. Smith; one brother: Paul Havens; and one son-in-law: Daired McClanahan.

Services
Visitation will be on Friday, October 30, 2009 from 4 - 6 PM at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.

Services will be conducted on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 6:00 PM at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri with Gary Teague; Phil Havens; Bill Lindsey and Richard Wagoner officiating.
